Boca Favorites
I’ve been here in Boca for officially a month straight now. But Monday is my very last day. So I have to say goodbye to the nice weather and laid back lifestyle.. and go back home to a ton of work, condo decorating, and art making as usual. While I was here I decided to set up the pieces I ended up wearing most while I was here. I always end up overpacking and then don’t end up wearing 20% of the things I pack. So I thought these deserved their due props.
Shoes (from left to right)
Dolce Vita gladiator sandals, Vera Wang nude patent leather pumps, Dolce Vita studded leather wedges, Jeffrey Campbell Lana platforms, Matiko leather and leopard wedges. (not pictured: Ego and Greed platform slingbacks in black)
I have a rule of thumb about shoes especially when it comes to packing a suitcase. Your shoes on vacation should always be versatile and able to be worn with lots of outfits. Most suitcase don’t have a ton of room for your precious shoes that take up a decent amount of space. I always pick 5 favorites according to the outfits I choose to pack. This time I went for 2 different spectrums. I brought a lot of nuetrals and nudes so I decided to base my shoe palette off of the amount of versatility they would serve in my clothing choice, comfort for lots of walking, and 1 or 2 pairs that are a little more outgoing. So I chose some nuetral shoes as well as some plain black shoes with smaller details and one with a pop of print.
Clothes (from left to right)
ACDC DIY Destroyed crop top w/ safety pin detail, Needsupplyco. pop art posie dress, Vintage Diane Von Furstenburg cherry red blouse, Vintage black sheer blouse, Missoni for Target collared dress, Natalie Encarnita bustier top, Zara snakeskin print jeans, Express black sequin shorts, Mink Pink destroyed high wasted shorts.
Now when it comes to clothes I like to be able to easily mix-n-match. When I’m on vacation I’m constantly doing things… and I want nice pieces that are easy to throw on… but still have personality. I chose 2 mono colored blouses because they go great with any kind of bottom as long as they are color appropriate. I also decided to go with some spring patterns like snakeskin and floral prints. As well as a Missoni dress I had on back-order. It seemed like really graphical prints were going to be on trend for spring. I’ve seen it in so many accessories and dresses. But I guess thats natural this time of year.. The Natalie Encarnita bustier top was always a favorite of mine for its quirky sewn on bustier and needs little to no accessorizing because it’s so fun and unique. And my ACDC top is one of my favorite summer tops that is close to my heart. I randomly found it ripped up and covered in bleach stains in my friends closet and for some reason I just had to have it. I ended up making into a destroyed crop top with some really cool safety pin lined hems on the shoulder and neck. The extra embellishment made the top one of my go to pieces. And DIY touches always make something more personal and unique.
So there you have it. Aside from the other few outfits I packed these pieces were definitely my go-to picks and served me well for this month. Overall i think practicality has ruled when packing for this vacation. I’m looking forward to going home.
